In Bön descriptions of the creation of the world (for instance as found in the mdzod phug), this is the name of an invisible and passive being, a personification of empty space, who posesses the “five causes” from which the world was formed. The father of the world, khri rgyal khug pa collects the five causes from him, and creates the manifest world.
