A land to the west of Tibet that is said to be the birthplace of ston pa gshen rab, and thus also the source of the Bön religion. Traditional sources say that it is part of the land of stag gzig. Some have suggested that this refers to the land of the Tajiks in Central Asia, though no evidence exists to link the two. While regarding it as a physical earthly location, Bönpos also see 'ol mo lung ring as being a sort of paradise, an indestructible land that will survive when fire consumes the remainder of the world.
