Summoning prosperity. The name of a ritual that is performed in order to summon fortune, such as food, wealth, or resources. The ceremony is often performed in a situation where g.yang, the essence of fortune, is in danger of leaving. For instance, when a bride leaves a household, the ceremony is performed so that the family’s g.yang does not permanently depart with her.
