An annual cycle of five offering rituals, or ceremonies, held at five different places in central Tibet. This cycle is also called the "Five offering ceremonies of Tibet" (bod kyi mchod pa lnga). The five offering ceremonies and the places where they are held are:
- Lhasa Offering Ceremony of the Fifteenth (lha sa bco lnga mchod pa): held in Lhasa (perhaps at Drepung Monastery ['bras spungs]) from the first to the fifteenth of the first Tibetan month, this festival commemorates Shakyamuni's defeat of demons and Forders in a competition of miracles at Shravasti. It is also know as the Festival of the Great Miracles (cho 'phrul chen po'i dus chen) and includes butter-culpture offering rituals.
- Gungtang Flower Offering Ceremony (gung thang me tog mchod pa): held at Tsel Gungtang Monastery (tshal gung thang) on the fifteenth day of the fourth Tibetan month. It includes ritual dance (gar 'cham). This festival is the only day of the year that one is allowed to visit the iconic representations of the deities Dripdzong Tsen (grib rdzong btsan) and Gungtang Penden Lhamo (gung thang dpal ldan lha mo).
- Radreng Cuckoo Offering Ceremony (rwa sgreng khu byug mchod pa): held at Radreng Monastery (rwa sgreng) on the fifteenth day of the fourth Tibetan month. It includes various ritual dances (gar 'cham).
- Samyé Offering to the Assembled Community Ceremony (bsam yas 'dus sde mchod pa): held at Samyé Monastery (bsam yas). Also known as bsam yas 'dod bde mchod pa.
- Lo New Moon Offering Ceremony (lo gnam gang mchod pa): held at Lo Monastery (lo) on the twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth days of the eleventh Tibetan month. It includes ritual dances related to protector deities (gar 'cham) and on the ritual offering cakes (gtor ma) are offered.
