A translation of the Sanskrit avataṃsaka  in the title of an important Great Vehicle sūtra, the standardized translation of which is now phal po che (Pelpoché).   The translation snyan gyi gong rgyan  (Nyengyi Gonggyen)  comes from the earlier translation period in Tibet, and is derived from one of the meanings of the Sanskrit avataṃsaka: ear ornament. The translation rma ga chad (magaché) is another alternate translation of  avataṃsaka from the earlier translation period.
