Entrustment seal. When a treasure-text (gter ma) is concealed, the person who conceals it entrusts it to a treasure-protector (gter srung), who will keep it secret until the time is right for it to be revealed. That protector has the official “stamp” or “seal” of being the recognized protector of the treasure.
